Peridot

Peridot

Peridot is one of the oldest gemstones found in nature and one of the most historically significant green gemstones. Peridot minerals belong to the orthorhombic crystal system and possess a typical isolated silicate tetrahedron structure. Its parent rock is the primary rock-forming mineral in the Earth's mantle, a magnesium iron silicate. The crystals are granular, appearing as dispersed particles or granular aggregates in rocks.
🔮 As the birthstone for August, peridot guards "Leo", symbolizing peace, luck, and other wonderful wishes. More than 3,500 years ago, humans first discovered peridot on St. John's Island in Egypt. The Egyptians believed it was a gift from the sun god, a gemstone belonging to the sun, and incorporated it into statues and temples. Along with lapis lazuli and emeralds, it became a healing stone for the Egyptians. The ruling planet of Leo, the sun, shines brightly alongside the "sun gem" peridot.
🔮 In modern times, peridot, with its fresh, grass-like, and energetic color, has been hailed as the "Muse" by internationally renowned jewelry designers who adore naturalistic styles. It frequently appears as the main stone in high-end jewelry collections of famous international brands.
